Isle of Capri Exceeds Goal in Heart of Missouri United Way Campaign Isle of Capri Casino Hotel employees went above and beyond their goal of $35,000 by raising over $47,000 in their 2009 campaign for the Heart of Missouri United Way. Isle of Capri presented their donation to Heart of Missouri United Way on Friday, October 16 at 2:00pm. As a pacesetter organization Isle of Capri began the campaigning early by having “jeans day” for United Way, barbeque and a carnival, employees also raised money through individual donations. Employees also participated in a “Day of Caring” where volunteers helped several local businesses including the Boonslick YMCA, Unlimited Opportunities and Harvest House. “It would have been easy for our employees to donate less this year because of the economy,” said Barron Fuller, vice president and general manager, “but we’ve donated more this year than ever before. It shows the dedication our employees have to their community. It’s where they live and where their families live so they get to see first hand how their donation affects their neighbors, co-workers and friends.” “It is just tremendous the amount of money that the employees of he Isle of Capri have raised for the Hearth of Missouri United Way,” said David C. Holtgraewe, director of resources development. We are extremely grateful to both the employees and the company. “At a time when the request for services at many of our 31 partner agencies is increasing, these gifts will go a long way to help meet the increased need.
