To benefit The American Cancer Society
®, Boonville is gearing up in a big way this month with events and activities all over the city, including Relay for Life
®. Relay for Life is a fun, organized team walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Teams camp out overnight around a community track and take turns walking in a relay. Cancer survivors are recognized during the event with a Survivors Lap at the beginning of the relay, while caregivers, friends and family of cancer victims and survivors are celebrated. Having raised nearly $5 billion to date through community events, Relay for Life helps provide funds for much needed cancer research.
Rays of Hope is teaming up with Isle of Capri® Casino for its 2nd Annual Relay for Life Ball
. Hosted in the swanky ballroom of The Isle of Capri Casino on Saturday, March 28. Guests will be transported back to a bygone era for a night to remember. By exchanging a "hotsy-totsy" evening of entertainment for some "scratch" (money) for this worthy charity, it's sure to be the "cat's meow!" Ball attendees will also enjoy a silent auction, a dessert bar, and a cash bar for "giggle water" in a private venue surrounded by the best gaming in town. All proceeds from the ball will go to Relay for Life.
