    Chef Feature: Jason Shreves

    Here at Isle of Capri Casino® Hotel Boonville, we absolutely love this time of the year. The weather's great and there are a lot of summer activities to keep you busy. But more importantly, it’s our Seafood Takeover. We’ll explain more about the seafood later, but first we'd like to give a big shout-out to our super talented executive chef, Jason Shreves.

    The Chef Behind it All

    We love to offer variety. We have three great restaurants, Tradewinds®, Farraddays'® and Farmer's Pick Buffet®. We are able to suit any taste and budget, and Jason just so happens to be the executive chef of all three. He’s been a chef for over ten years, and we’ve been fortunate enough to have him here for four years! He has brought so much flavor to our plates, and he comes up with exciting and tasty recipes over and over.

    We know not everyone wants to be a professional chef, but you’ve probably wondered what meal you can make at home that tastes great and also captures the taste of summer. We think seafood and summer go together perfectly, so we asked Chef Jason what his favorite at home seafood dish it. He replied with frutti di mare. He said that this is a great dish because of “the freshness of clam, shrimp and bay scallops," and that “…you can’t go wrong with garlic lemon butter.”

    But what is his number one word of advice for cooking any type of fish at home? Chef Jason said that "fish should smell fresh and mild, not fishy, sour or ammonia-like.” So make sure that your fish is fresh and smells okay before you try to be a master chef like Jason and whip up some frutti di mare!

    Tradewinds: At Tradewinds, we like to get a little creative. Check in daily for our seafood inspired creations.

    We know we’ve done a lot of talking about our seafood, but of course you can’t forget about the gaming! Work up an appetite playing all of your favorite games. We have a little bit of everything, including over 900 game slots, video poker machines and live action gaming.
